Anyone Used?--Kit to Patch Damaged Sidewalls--GLUETHREAD

I found this "Gluethread" kit reviewed in an off-road magazine. It says it can repair gashes in sidewalls out on the trail.

Has anyone used this. Looks like a pretty good idea.

Sounds too good to be true. That said I imagine it works long enough to get back to roadside and a real tire replacement.

 

They do say "for off road use only". Still looks like it could be useful to get you out of a bad situation.

 

If you wheel like no tomorrow and end up with two broadside flats and one spare I see the value.
