I used the arb wiring harness for the fridge and grounded straight to the battery. I ran along the frame up through the headlight.

Hey! I know this is an older thread but do you have pics of how you routed the wire from the front to the back?

I will take some pics early next week. I’m on a trip right now and everything is caked in mud.

    Thread jack alert!

A comment above got me to thinking. Is there a simple single wire I could splice and route through an AOB switch with fake lighting graphics on it to disable starting the vehicle? I know some have put a toggle switch hidden somewhere to help with theft. Same idea here, just with the switch in plain sight.

    Here are some pics.

I loomed all the wires I wanted to run back (the main positive feed, and the relay control wires. The negative i grounded to the frame with the other existing factory negative wires below the cubby.) ahead of time use heavy duty woven split loom. I taped it at intervals and tried to respect the excellent wiring methods Toyota uses at the factory (IE no wiring crossing hard corners, nothing left to chafe, and stood off from the frame so it doesn’t cause rubbing off of the paint, collection of silt, and corrosion). If you follow the spirit of how Toyota wires a vehicle (they are they best at this) you should eliminate most futures issues. I tried to avoid any sharp edges and strapped the loom to something solid at least every foot or so.

Leaving the bottom of the cubby (the red loom is heading forward……there’s a diff breather hose and the local wiring also coming out the bottom):

I crossed immediately over on the spare tire carrier cross member as its easier to run up the passenger side, and there is an existing loom to follow.

Where the loom come close to the Catalytic converters I wrapped it in aluminum tape, mimicking what Toyota does to the factory loom I strapped to in that area.

Once inside the engine compartment, I crosses over below the windshield to a breaker I mounted to protect the main positive feeder wire back to the cubby fuse panel.

What loom did you use? Something from Amazon or bought from a supplier? One of the first hits was Techflex F6 which checks several boxes: can be had for cheap from the same place I need to get some 10 AWG TXL wire, and it's split vs full tubing. It only comes in black though. No one else will see the red, but I'll know it's (not) there.

I didn't know Toyota was supreme at routing practices. That's solid advice, following them.

Yeah. I just bought loom off Amazon. I don’t know why I ended up with red. I wasn’t trying to get the red stuff. The key is to avoid the hard plastic corrugated loom as it fails and cracks and the wires end up chafing. You want the braided split loom.

This sort of stuff (be sure to check sizing):
