I get the same effect from Taco Bell

 

I was driving through probably 5 years ago and had no clue it was a law. I got out and started pumping and the attendant came out and started yelling at me. I just said "oh" and finished. Had to drive there 2 years ago and remembered so I did as others have stated and made sure I didn't need gas.

 

I got the blue so I can find it in the parking lot among all the white, black and gray vehicles. (I like blue anyway!) I also get occasional compliments on the color.

 

Bad plasti dip job. Fixed it already.

I did not do the install, had a gear shop do it. Too much work for me!

 

I haven't much luck with plasti dip. Sprayed 2 pieces at the same time, same prep. One piece came out with bubbles and the other had the texture of sandpaper. lol

 

Were they the same type of plastic?

Robby Layton had a video where he said "fish eyes" (lots of paint bubbles) can happen on lots of plastics. He showed that cleaning the surface with thinner can reduce/eliminate the issue.

Yeah they were the trim pieces around the head unit and left of the instrument cluster. Might give it another shot when it warms up a bit.

 

Okay. Thanks. I’ve heard it’s a pain to get the splines lined up correctly and if you don’t it’s disastrous. Think I’ll do the same when the time comes.

 

Haha oh you know! Joking, put some aftermarket dump tubes on so not sure what to do with my stock ones now lol

 

Put on a roll up bed cover. I went with the cheap Amazon Tyger. Super easy install and surprisingly good quality. I'm very happy with it, we will see if it lasts. They say it comes with a lifetime warranty also.

 

Mine has been going strong in Phoenix sun for about two years now. I went with Tyger because it was cheaper, and because i didnt want the sun ruining something that was costly. I'm actually surprised it has held up. I have driven it 99% of the time extended and not rolled up. However, it is kept in a garage for the most part when parked.

 

I know I bought the driver side but was wondering do your passengers use their?

 

Have had mine for 2 years with no complaints and it's held up well. The only thing I've had to do was I recently replaced the weatherstripping along the head rail of the bed. The weatherstripping was bowing out in a couple of places.

 

Thanks guys, I'm glad to hear it lasts. I wanted something to keep stuff in the bed out of sight and out of mind.

 

Couple of birds decided to draw some abstract art on our paint job yesterday so I gave it a bath and installed the Black Tacoma Emblem Overlay kit from Tacoma Lifestyle since it was clean.

 

New toy arrived today (Warn VR EVO 10-s). Thought I got a decent deal online @ Autozone for $734. Now just patiently waiting for my SSO Plate Bumper to get built.

 

Not today but snapped a few pictures Sunday, the first I'd taken since I bought it back in December. Loving it so far!
