Aluminium would be a solid way to cut some weight, especially if you’re not playing in the big rocks. If you did the Extreme High clearance version you could gain that in approach angle and not worry less about bashing into things.

Having someone fully weld an aluminum bumper sounds costly though…

Yea, I've toasted enough plastic end caps of radiators that I dont trust em after enough time.

Yeah that’s the current challenge. The bumper is 1.5k as a weld it yourself kit. Hopefully I can recoup some cost from selling this TNF bumper. Sold the Solo Kit yesterday so that’s another step closer to giving JD fab a call for installation. Waiting to see if they’re willing to weld it up at the time of the pivot/lt installation.

This one came from partsgeek.com. I have one coming Monday from car parts.com

partsgeek wants me to wait 2-7 business days for a return label, ship it back, then wait 7-14 for the return to be processed for a refund. Then I can start a new order. They won’t send one out to exchange this one.

While that refund works it’s way out , ordered one form carparts.com with a new radiator and condenser.

For the guys that use balancing beads. I put 6 oz in my tires and it seemed to help smooth out the ride but I still have some steering wheel shake in between 40-65. The chart said 6oz for 35’s. Curious what other people use? I may need to put more.

You cant put too much. I would be doing at least 10. With bead locks, if your rings aren't perfectly centered its going to take some weight. I have 1Lb in each of my 37's.

Thanks man. I will try 2 more oz in each to start to see if it helps. If not I’ll go to 10 but won’t do more than that. It just started after I rotated the tires so I think it’s just 1 tire that I put up front that’s causing the issue.

You cant over do it with beads unless you fill the whole damn tire. Go straight to 10.

10 oz is where we start for beadlocks. Remember they will not ride as smooth as a standard non beadlock cast wheel. “No regerts”

Yeah, I figured. They still ride smoother than my 33’s did though. I spent so much damn money trying to get those things balanced correctly. They just didn’t ride great. They were also cooper AT and not MT like I have now. These Yokohama geolanders actually ride pretty well.

You can make bead locks as smooth as glass. But it's going to take weight.

I understand the logic behind it. Has anyone experienced overheating in their truck? Enough to justify spending the additional amount on an aluminum radiator? I've never noticed my truck having overheating issues even in the summer so the additional cost of a CSF seems excessive unless you're going all out.

This may change with forced induction though. I know you have one. I'm assuming the supercharger is the main reason.

Edit: now if someone figures out a simple solution to a tranny cooler then count me in. That is an issue I've experienced enough to want to address.

I just did this guy https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000CJ4974?ref=ppx_yo2_dt_b_product_details , nice quality, pretty big, and made a couple small brackets out of flat bar and plumbed her in. Doubted on a 3rd gen so I think I have more grill space. Simple wiring to hook the fan up and now I just turn the fan on when wheeling.
