    dont pump gas if the fuel truck is making delivery at the gas station. their fuel dump stirs up the bottom of the stations tank. supposed to be filtered but who knows. Letting fuel tank sit for months on end? the fuels can go bad if left sitting and vented to air results looks like yellow sugar. that happened to my outboard electric fuel pump.

    Well, I spoke too soon. The Napa locking gas cap caused a Check Engine Light...looks like I'll order the Stant on Amazon.

    30 years ago I had a locking cap on my 79 Mustang. No issues but I had it one winter only.

    Where ever you get it from be sure it's the real deal not counterfeit. I had a lot of trouble with fakes. If it doesn't have white print, the Raised S on the end of the grip, and all metal key it's not the right part. Also turn 3 clicks when you put it on.

    Seems the fella on that Original Thread has stopped making and selling the feature.
    But I do have this for ya:

    Cable controlled '95 Toyota Celica Gas door lock. The fella had a custom base fabricated to add the solenoid. And a metal "ring" substitutes the retaining fork.

    I'd buy that truck in a heartbeat for a non-runner auction price. Wonder what that price is? 3G Tacoma used engines are going for about $3500. Add a used tank and pump, flush the lines and you are good to go. I can't really believe $32K, even for OE for repairs.

    I agree. Unfortunately it wasn't my decision.
    But I'm happy with the outcome.
    Truck was literally perfect otherwise.

    I've been looking for O'Reilly Auto Parts here near Dover...I remember seeing one in Hillsboro, MD which is 33 miles one-way from here. I'll have to check it out today after work.

    I tried to add the locking gas cap to my cart on O'Reilly's website but did not see a button/link to add it.

    I'm all for an adventure drive to the countryside of MD. lol

    Long story short...there's no O'Reilly's Auto parts store in Maryland.

    I ordered my Stant locking gas cap from VA location and installed it over the SB weekend.

    No CEL (check engine light) has come on since I installed it. Today, I had my 10K mile Maintenance too!
