I have a 2005 toyota tacoma 4.0 auto. Was running great. Now it’s running rich, having rough idle and won’t rev passed 3k rpm. Cleaned maf, nothing. Also has cold air intake. Thinking about swapping with my bodies stock intake to see if that helps. If you got any ideas please let me know. Don’t know what else to try. Thanks in advance

Try unhooking the battery for a bit, reconnect and then nurse the throttle while it ‘re-learns”…

    maybe.

Any codes? Seems like it would. What leads to the conclusion it's rich and not lean?

Sounds like it’s in Fail-Safe mode.
Do you have a check engine light On?

How do you know its running rich? Any codes?

Did this problem start when the CAI was installed?

@connroids said he doesn't have any catalytic converters over here. Might be part of the problem.....

Getting code p0102. Which is mass or volume air flow circuit low input. Cleaned and even tried why friends mass sensor(same year and model) I’m saying it’s rich because the exhaust smells allot more like fuel, more then usual. I’ve had the CAI on for awhile but I’m now dealing with this problem.

Not enough bandwidth on the internet to list.
Put a code reader on the OBD. Even though it hasn't gone to CEL, it could have a DTC logged that might give you a clue. Upstream O² Sensors might be wonky. Obviously, it can be a lot of things but try a scan tool first.

What kind of CAI is it? These trucks are particular about the type of intake you put on it and if you put the wrong type on, boom, code.
