Hi everyone, I am a prospective Tacoma buyer. I have never owned a truck or a Toyota before but am interested in using it for daily driver (very low mile usage expected around town - maybe 5000 miles a year), hauling mulch, plywood, and other home improvement supplies on the weekend, and aspirationaly getting into off-road camping (e.g. possible roof tent, winch, etc.). I am in North Carolina so I don't see this truck being used for any extreme Moab type adventures in rock crawling but a trip to drive on the beaches of an uninhabited Outer Banks island is not out of the question. I would ideally like to buy used but these days it might make sense to buy new so I am looking at both. I am almost definitely going to go for the double cab and a 3rd gen.

My main question is what available features would you Tacoma owners include if you had your perfect Tacoma for similar use as I describe? E.g. would you campers definitely look for a TRD off-road with all its bells and whistles? Do you regret not getting a power plug or lighting in the bed?

Let me know if it makes sense to post this directly in a specific forum or if its already been answered a million times (I searched but didn't find anything) and I am excited to hear your ideas and feedback!

I got an off-road to have the locker "just in case," but lots of members here get around off road just fine in Sports or SRs or SR5s.
I didn't think I'd use the bed lights, but they actually turned out to be quite useful while camping.

The manual transmission is the only thing I really really miss from my 2012 Tacoma.
