Autocross first-gen taco

I wanna build an autocross first-gen taco. Haven't bought one yet. I’ve been looking at base models because they are already low to the ground stock. Can you lower the tall ones to the same height as the base model lowered ones? Or would you have to swap out the subframe? What about other things? What would yall recommend for mods? Also, this thing would be a daily driver and may have some planks in the bed occasionally. Thanks!

I would recommend a 5 lug Tacoma. They're already lower to the ground than a 6 lug. Only downside is that you'll only have the 4 cylinder engine. Other than that, I think the 5 lug, especially a single cab, would be great for those applications.

 

I don't mind a 4 cylinder, it gets good gas milage

These are pretty rare but would probably be the best first gen for auto cross. 5 lug. Factory lowered stiffer suspension, front and rear sway bars. V6 5 speed

Looks like cali, how do you get over speed bumps? Otherwise, that's a good-looking truck!

Ooh! Is the ride and handling better than static? Which company and model is it? Also, where did you put the air tank and compressor? Behind the seat? Thanks!

 

it rides really soft. my tank compressors and valve is in my bed (I have a fiberglass tonneau cover)
