Has anyone else experienced a windshield company refusing to recalibrate their safety sense computer because the trucks lifted 2.5”?!

Safelite says I have to take it to the dealer after they put the glass in to have them calibrate it.

Yes, had a windshield done at safelite. They couldn't get the camera calibrated. Said because of the lift and bigger tires the camera doesn't have enough adjustment range. So as of now I have the big PCS error. Don't know why the screwed with the camera in the first place, didn't need adjusting. Now it'll just cost me money at the dealer...

Been driving it like this for 5 months, I have a

So annoying. Go figure the biggest baseball sized rock hits my windshield the week after lifting it lol.

I have glass coverage so AAA said take it to the dealer and have them calibrate it and it will be covered.

Maybe I can get them to sneak in a Speedo recalibration too.

That's strange. I've had the exact opposite with safelight recently. The first replacement I had in 2019, I had to bring it to the dealership, but my insurance covered the cost. However the following 3 I was able to bring it to a safelight location that had a recalibration tool. I have a 2.5 billstein 5100 setup too and 275/70/17 tires. No questions asked by them.

There are directions on here somewhere on how to calibrate the sensor, you just unplug a connector and short a couple pins.

The dealer cannot calibrate the speedometer, but Rough Country sells an inline speedometer calibrator for $170. Quick and easy install.
