i did start with the Hh alone for over a year, bc i didn't want to relo the spare, same. Archive has said there's something like a 10% improvement with the tube, but my experience with my truck is it's a greater improvement than that. but it's also true that everything i did to the truck was to help out the drive feel and handling, so these things are evident and a focus on my truck. i have the original tube, not the HC.

This. I did this with a 9SIX9 TE37 rep.. It's the same specs and bronze and (albeit a completely different spoke design) looks passable under the truck and is hubcentric. For $150 it's worth it vs a full on TE that is super easy to steal lol. Fits my 33" spare without issue with the Hodakaguy spare tire mount relocation holes mod.

So here's the te37 related story I have to share:

Had a camping/fishing trip planned for about 2 months. It was Saturday Feb 12th through today the 16th.
Turns out my te37xt M spec -20's were delivered while I was out of town on this trip. No problem, got the folks to sign and accept for them as I had the tracking numbers a couple days before I left.
I get back from camping today excited to inspect my new wheels that I ordered literally a year ago today. Exactly a year.
Already have an appointment to have my tires fitted on Friday.

    I open the boxes.
I saw that damn machined groove around the wheel rim. NOT M SPEC.
    I ordered M spec.

I do not like that line. Not what I ordered. I wanted a damn solid rim. Mother fucking m spec.

Now, I am beyond letting shit like this really get to me, but I really don't want the non-m spec wheels.
It is very unlikely they can just send me the proper order anytime soon. I would be looking at another 8 months+.

But - I wasn't here to inspect them and refuse to accept them from the delivery driver.

What would you guys do in this situation? What would be your game plan?

That blowssss man. Contact the seller, get em swapped out. The M-Spec is much nicer.

I didn't even know they were still making the other style.

Do you have any pics of what you got? I’m confused by the “machined groove” and I’m not sure I’ve seen it.

I feel the same way with the center caps, I like them on but sometimes I like the look of them off.

You’re the reason I got the bronze caps! I couldn’t find any pics until I searched on here. Thank you

Definitely would looked better with the center cap “Rays” lined up with the “Rays” on the spoke.

Oh that’s just a test fit I didn’t secure them yet, you’re suppose to install the caps from the inside so they don’t fall out. I just wanted to see how it looked

Happy to stumble across this thread and share the Volks love!! I've never actually seen a Taco on Te37s in person, and not sure I've seen anyone else rocking the chrome center caps below. I didn't scroll through 200 pages of this thread either lol

The truck now belongs to my brother, but here's some pics of my old 2nd gen (I didn't bother checking if there's a Te37 thread in the 2nd gen forum :D)... benefit of selling to my brother is I still get to see and drive it :bananadance:

Took some time to get them in, thinking I may have gone too aggressive in with the negative offset vs 0 but I'm still super happy with the wheels. 17 X 8.5 with the -10 offset. I'm not excited to have to trim the inner fender but I do love the look.
