I've tried searching the other OVTune threads about the new 2.0 OVTune update but couldn't find the answers I was looking for. I have a 2021 MT and was wondering if the 2.0 version available on VFtuner would be compatible, even though the shop description says it was made for 2020 models.

I was driving a 4.0L V6 B4000 before I got my Taco and it was quite peppy engine and truck but it got pretty worn out. It had 490,000km on the ODO before the timing chain went. (Had a Heli-coil replacement 5 years prior and it malfunctioned during a spark-plug replacement and jostled the crap out of the engine's valve and timing systems.) Either way, I really enjoyed how the truck drove but wanted to get into a Taco, as I fell in love with the aesthetics/interior and loved how a-lot of tacos still have keyed ignitions and old fashioned designs. I'm not a fan of how ridiculously automated cars are nowadays (electronic parking brakes, push starts, buttons on the door handles, etc...) and was happy with how the truck was modern, not overcomplicated, and still a Stick-shift since those are hard to come by as of recently.

I still love my Taco, but my biggest complaint with it is that the throttle response is really slow/unpredictable. Shifting into a lower gear seems to always be a very involved effort to rev-match. At first I blamed it on the Electronic throttle always feeling like it was .25 seconds behind every input I put into it, but after hearing about OVTune it brings me hope that I can possibly help with the throttle response. I'm not expecting it to drive like a race car but I would like to have some of the linear shifting I had with my old Mazda MT. Also, I was seeing that it could also help with the low RPM bogging the truck suffers with too, which would be amazing. That was one of the first things I had to get used to with this truck after I picked it up- It hates even slight acceleration at 1500RPM! I was shocked considering it was a V6 and even my Mazda would still chug along slowly accelerating starting from 1000RPM if I wasn't in a rush.

Anyways, Sorry it's so wordy for what seems to be a quick question! It's my first post and I don't get to talk about my truck often!

2021 MT's should have tune packs available.

Talk to @tonered, as he's got an MT and could just about answer any question you have regarding vF and the manual transmission without any added BS.

He's a good guy and even has a few threads with some common tune edits for the MT's. Can't recall if they're in the performance section or not but shouldn't take too much effort to find.

Yes there are tune packs for the 21. I’ve had my mt tuned since about 30k miles and am at 122 now. I’d never go back to stock

also check out the adm, it’ll make the clutch way better.

ADM? What does that stand for? Also, I don't have any issues with the clutch, per se. Just the throttle delay.
