Had to do an "emergency" school drop off this morning, for my youngest.

Bus hadn't shown up, so I decided to start driving up the road and heading towards the school. The bus was "stuck" at the top of a hill that comes down on the opposite side of my street, because he said a tree looked like it was coming down and branches fell, and he said he saw the tree come down a little, so he stopped and called his supervisor and was told not to go through.

And then of course, the drop off line was huge because I guess there are a lot of parents that don't believe in letting their kids ride the bus to school.

Headed to Toyota later to order some connectors (I messed up one of my ECM connectors). I'll also be getting prices on mirror glass and a switch for heated mirrors.

The final big part of the reno is happening next week; floors being redone. So this weekend the job is to move everything downstairs and into the garage.

Gonna spend the week at the in-laws... Lovely...

We went through this in May. Like you, we have a raised ranch. We had pecan flooring installed on entire upper level and had to move everything at some point. At least the dining room table and hutch just had to be moved around. Even the closet floors had to be emptied. I never realized how many shoes I own. Family room downstairs was jammed and several nights in a hotel. Worth it in the end but wow what a pain. Be patient.

 

All I really wanted was power/heated mirrors and navigation with steering wheel controls and Bluetooth for the phone.
The rest of the stuff gets added to most trucks anyways.

Drove up to Cabela's yesterday to meet up with @crashngiggles to give him the snorkel that @BadDNA bought from me.

It was good getting the truck up to operating temp for a while as I live only 8 minutes from work so my drive in the mornings is short.

Went to Danbury this morning to meet up with my motorcycle buddies, took the Tacoma as it needed to stretch its tires a bit.

Discussed the world's problems with the men, so you can sleep well tonight.

Tacoma runs much better after a good running.

At "hotel in-laws" for the week. Floors are getting refinished. Hopefully everything goes smooth and we'll be back on Saturday, to bring everything back upstairs.

 

Very happy I have today off, I'm shot after this weekend. 12 hour days Friday Saturday and Sunday are no fun
