I am building bed racks for my 11 DCSB. I wanted a rack that could carry skis, a rooftop tent or anything else I wanted to put on there. I looked at all the different options from Extreme Terrain and Cali Raised and just about cried seeing the price. (A 17 year old budget doesn't help) I figured I could make a better one for cheaper and build it to my specifications. So I started with bending 1/4" steel for the supports.

Then I used aluminum channel for the cross bars. The steel was 3" wide and the inside of the channel was 2.5" so I used a cutting wheel to take 1/4 inch of off each side.

Once I had everything cut I did a dry fit before I painted and mounted them. I sprayed them with PlastiDip. I'm not sure how long it will hold up but we will see.
