So this is for a 5th gen T4R so it might be very similar with the 3rd Gen. Taco. Anyway...how in the world do you remove this idler no. 1 pulley. This is the lowest idler close to the AC compressor. The area very tight due to the oil cooler/filter housing. I cannot get enough leverage to put enough torque on it. I tried using a 14mm crowfoot, a 12-point combo wrench and the bolt head is near stripped and rounded now. I also tried spraying some liquid wrench/wd-40 on it.

I'm going to attempt a 1/4" 6-point 14mm socket with a long, thin flex head ratchet with a torch. I'm having doubts the 6-point will grab due to the stripped head. My only other option is to remove the entire oil filter housing so I can get myself some extra space. Would professional shop somehow have an offset impact wrench that might be able to fit in there?

This is a 2014 model with 125k miles. The two idler no. 2 pulleys was a breeze to remove. This is not the tensioner pulley so this bolt has standard threading like idler no. 2.

Only the pulley on the tensioner assembly is reverse threaded. The rest are standard, lefty loosey.

Long open/closed box wrench from the top right side. Or short open/close with additional wrench to double up on the end. I also have a cut down 14mm socket that goes on my 3/8 ratchet that fits in spots like that

You could also wait for oil change time and remove the oil cooler in your way while it was drained, leave the coolant lines connected though unless you wanna drain and fill that too.

Yup, the bolt is stripped. There is no way to remove it unless I take off the entire filter housing and one of the brace supports so I can get an offset impact wrench on it.

I’d used a tite reach, I bought a set a few years ago and would be perfect for this.

Remains to be seen I bought the tires and wheels the rest came along
Like anything else I would move or disconnect anything I needed to get access.

I have had to cut out sections of frames to access pumps on certain equipment.

    Good Luck !
