    Hey TW,

I have had my 2019 Tacoma for about 3 weeks now and love it. Had nothing but bad weather since I bought it so no pictures. I am searching for a truck cap and see one offered not too far away. It is from a 2015, 6'. Can anyone tell me if that should fit right or even close. Thank you.

The tailgate on the back of the 16+ is curved so the rear window won’t fit correctly with a second gen (05-15) cap.

Just be patient. I have been starting to see more 3rd gen ones on Craigslist. If you can do a diy they aren’t too hard to paint and you convince the significant other you need more tools because you saved so much money painting it yourself.

It will look like total crap. The height of bedsides are different between the 2nd and 3rd gens. Plus there is the difference in tailgates. Look at old trucks you see driving around town with mismatched shells. You will turn your expensive, stylish truck into looking like something you see broken down at a flea market.

Just wait until the spring and you can find a 3rd Gen that actually fits your truck. Color matching might be harder, but black will work too. I found this one for $550.
