Good morning everyone. What are your thoughts on the OEM Tonneau for 5'2 bed? And what is the best aftermarket cover? TIA

Better options than the oem, unless you can get one really cheap.

There really are too many options out there, I found it slightly overwhelming to think about. You need to figure out which style works best for your needs. Which features are most important to you? Security, appearance, price, etc. If you need full access to your bed is also something to consider. Some brands that seem to be popular around here are Lomax and Bakflip. I've also heard nothing but good things about oem.

I had a Bakflip F! on my truck before I got a cap. It was a very good cover but I don't feel it was worth the $1000+ I paid for it. I would personally go with the Lomax if I did it again. There is a vendor somewhere on TW who can get you one for a very good price.

Are you talking soft or hard?

I have the OEM Toyota tri-fold and love it. Solid and sturdy. Bought used for $100 (lid only) and sourced all the hardware from a Toyota dealer online for about $180.

Now I know there are ones out there with better construction (load bearing) and nicer features (electric roll-up)… but at the end of the day, they are all still tonneau covers. No matter what you pay or they do… they simply cover the bed.
