Any fellow roofers in here? I need mod suggestions for carting sheets of OSB/Plywood around from time to time. Also, how do you keep bundles of shingles from sliding around during transport?

This is also my daily driver so maintaining a comfortable ride is important.

The dealership didn't have a Tundra to sell and I needed a truck that day. I've been super pleased with my purchase so far. We hit 5k miles last week.

    Any recommendations would be appreciated.

Welcome to TW! Like what Buck Huntin a bed mat is great. The Toyota bed mat is pretty much the best one for our trucks and isn't all that outrageously expensive at $100 or so. I'm not a professional roofer by any means but I've helped my father with roofing a house or two and I would definitely say the mat would keep bundles from sliding around. Another thing that could help with keeping shingles from moving all over would be the bed divider. It might help keep them stacked nicely when they are 2 or 3 bundles high but I'm really not sure if it could take the weight of them though like for a hard stop if in the very back of the bed or for a hard acceleration if at the front. Maybe some kind of frame would help keep them from sliding around. I know some guys make a frame to keep sand bags from moving so maybe that could be adapted to help with bundles.20220220_094858.jpg 20220220_100005.jpg

You ain't going to carry much in a Tacoma. You need a utility trailer. You can put more stuff; by weight or volume in a 10'X6' utility trailer than you could haul in a 1-ton truck with an 8' bed. And a Tacoma will pull that much weight with ease.

I'd driven full size trucks my whole life until buying the Tacoma. It didn't take long for me to figure this out. There are other advantages too. The trailer sits lower and most have a ramp which makes loading and unloading much easier. And you don't beat up the truck bed hauling tools, gravel, firewood, etc.

Some of this Some of that
Ladder racks and heavier suspension for the back would be a good thing. An add a leaf or new leaf pack is a must if you plan on using the truck for work. The factory suspension Is kinda flimsy
