    Supposed to be back in the 50-60’s later this week so I will have to wait til then.

    It certainly does sound like that fuel pump as I listened to a few clips online that others have posted and it sounds identical.

    Should be under warranty, is there any way to stop by any Toyota dealership when you have been driving it enough to hear it? Optimal if you can, sometimes impossible to do.

    That's basically what I was told to do. Assuming it occurs when I am close to one and have nothing else on my schedule at the time.......

    So, today, the chirping noise starts up loud and clear as I am out running errands. Conveniently, I am about 3 miles away from another Toyota dealership, so off I go and pull into their service lanes and quickly grab a service writer. He comes out and I demonstrate the noise issue to him.
    He points out the high pressure fuel pump location and has me rev the motor up a bit. Not the fuel pump, he says, it is definitely coming from the front part of the motor, so he is thinking a pulley bearing of some sort is the culprit.
    Writes me up for service and has me out of the door with a loaner in less than 20 minutes saying they will track it down and get it corrected.
    Hoping things are looking up.

    @ARNIE R It just didn't sound like it could be the fuel pump from your description, at least the pully, bearing and belt isn't a huge amount of shop time to get you in and fix it.

    Dealer called yesterday morning at 8:10 AM while I was in my doctor's office saying the truck was done and ready. They stated the tech did a stethoscope test on all the pulleys/bearings and determined that they were not the issue. Ended up being some issue with the belt itself, so that was replaced under warranty. All was quiet after that, so I hope that finally solved the problem. I'll know for sure on Monday when it gets into the 60's again.

    @ARNIE R
    Changed all three belts last week, had the same sound issue. A quick way to tell is when it started to 'chirp' was to shut it down and spray a little water with Dawn soap on the belt, if the sound stopped for awhile then it was the belt and not the pulley.
    (1st gens have 3 belts and not a serpentine which would be easier)

    That's how they finally determined it to be the belt and not any of the pulleys. Said they sprayed the belt with a soap solution and away it went.

    I had tried that, but I guess Palmolive doesn't work as well as Dawn..........:thumbsup:

    Sometimes windex is a good mix, lightly soapy. It's why I won't use it on windows but as a lubricant. If the engine is a bit too warmed up the water mix evaps too quickly and it won't stop the squeek-chirp long enough to figure where the sound is coming from.
    (fyi for others checking the thread?)

    I did try straight Windex and it did quiet it down for about 20 seconds.

    I’ll remember that tip - but hopefully, I won’t have to deal with issue again.
