Preferred bulb upgrade for 3rd gen halogens?

I remember reading a long thread about why you don’t stick led bulbs in halogen housings, and it made perfect sense. Somewhere in that thread, OP had said something along the lines of, “if you want the best/recommended halogen bulb to upgrade from factory, it’s XYZ.”

…but I can’t remember what XYZ was, nor can I find that particular post within the large thread.

Anybody here know what the go-to, preferred halogen bulb upgrade is?
