Got pulled out wheeling the other day. After the steering wheel was not center and the Vsc light was on. Took it in for alignment and the shop I went to was not sure what’s going on. They could not find any damage and did not want to do the alignment. Both wheel toe in the same direction. With the steering wheel straight the left site was - 1.3 and the right was 1.6. Any idea what could of moved both wheels in the same direction. In my mind the only thing that would do that is the steering rack shifted. F5917523-B934-405E-ABB9-9E861FBABB13.jpg

Yup, steering rack shifted and the VSC wants to see the steering wheel straight to validate the steering input degree value.

I'm cheap but a skipped rack is scary and I would replace it.

You'd need a new rack, and a simple zero point calibration. You can search on here how to do a zero point calibration, which will clear the light once the steering is centered again.

You also need to find a competent alignment shop.

At least they didn't try to fix what they didn't understand however finding and correcting a problem like this should not be an issue for a good shop.

Please keep us updated on the outcome.
