Jan or Feb Citrus trip interest?

Hello everyone! I actually went out there today and rode trails 10 and 15. Very fun, cool areas where your suspension will articulate and you can really test your suspensions and driving lines. Im usually the only 1st gen, but I don't care, I love all rigs and trail riding! Definitely got some pin stripes, stayed relatively clean since it was dry, and a lot of soft soft sand that was very fun to drive in 2wd. Every once in a while you stumble upon a very cool spot with deep ruts and small inclines when you can kinda " crawl" which is what I love most. Found a cool cave also and went in! I'm no pro on this area, I have a lot to explore and would love to meet up some day and see everyone's rigs! Here's a pic I took while the sun was nice!

Glad to hear that parts of trail 15 weren’t closed like @NABeast had mentioned earlier. I can’t wait to get some time to head over there and check it all out!

Thanks man, It was a very nice day! Definitely want to stay updated on when a meet up happens! Years ago before I moved to NCFL I would watch tacoma world citrus meet vids on YouTube and wish I could join! Havnt seen those guys update their YouTube vids, let's get something going soon!

 

Where abouts do you live?

 

Staying west of gainesville. About 70 min from citrus.

 

I may have to tag along with some of y'all, I live literally down the street.

How was it?

 

I’m meeting up with @kaijac03 on Saturday and hit a few trails, should be fun.

 

it was enjoyable, nothing too crazy for a complete noob with a stock truck. I didn’t air down or have anybody with me so I took it pretty easy.

 

Never been to Citrus. On R&R and back from training, so just a snorkel install to do and looking for an intro to Citrus WMA. Thinking next weekend, Friday 1 April to Sunday.

 

So went out today… trail 14 is nerfed, totally gone. Trail 15 and 19 closed. Sucks. Didn’t risk getting a fine and going through. Ran into a few small Toyota groups, which was cool. Still a good time with @kaijac03

 

Hit the trails again today before the thunderstorms came in, there is a ton of water on them already. I took the better part of valor in quite a few places, but still managed to hit some good mud holes and climbs. I went trail 10-15-20-13-22. The plan was to hike to the caves, but the skies opened up and we had to bail on the caves. Picture is from trail 22, which is very narrow.

 

Wanna go out to Citrus for a quick overnighter 15-16 April. Need to get dirty and share a few stories around the fire pit. Anyone up for it?

 

Just booked last open campsite for night of the 15 April. Will be out early on Friday, scout the area (get dirty) then check in for thee night. Saturday will be a full day of trying to get dirtier/muddier.

 

Wish I could make it but don’t my wheel bearing is going bad and I don’t think I’ll have time to get it replaced by then.

Always! If I’m available and can make it out with my deployment schedules, I’ll be up for anytime out in the bush, on the trails and camping.

 

Off to see how wet Citrus is tomorrow through Saturday afternoon. Hope to see some others out there as I'm going out solo and I've never been there. The winch is ready, the snorkel leak checked, my underwear........clean. Beers, gin & tonics by the firepit and a night camping under my ARB awning.

 

But seriously, it sounds like you're prepared to have a great time. Hope you have a blast.
