I've always had a thing for smaller trucks. I've had 4 rangers in the past. My most recent truck was an 08 f150 with the 5.4 . I got it up to 183000 miles before the timing chains jumped a tooth. It was still running but going to cost quite a bit to fix a truck that was worth about 3k if it was running right. I found a 2012 regular cab 4x4 4 cylinder 5 speed which is exactly what I wanted in a Tacoma. With the exception of it being red. Hopefully I'll be finding a cap for the bed. I tried one from an access cab and it was contacting the back of the cab. Other than that the only mods I have planned are a front receiver hitch. I've only got a couple of tanks through it but I'm averaging 23mpg. Should go up as the weather gets warmer here.

That’s a great truck. Start looking for bucket seats now. Keep it lubed, smear boat grease on the frame, don’t monkey with it and it’ll run forever….

Oddly I like the bench seat. I've got an appointment to have it treated with rust proofing oil in April.

The problem with the bench is driver/passenger switching of disproportionate sizes…

the wife couldn’t drive, because I couldn’t get both legs in the glovebox.

I'll be the only one ever driving it. No woman at the moment anyways. I'm 6'4/300# so the seat will always be all the way back.

Never underestimate the old man truck’s ability to attract women….

Thanks. I just wish it was green. If it wasn't so expensive I'd have it wrapped.

I think those 4x4 shortys are pretty rare to begin with. Mine is Access cab long bed.
