    Hi folks,

I bought an after market remote start kit with an app module. Based on instructions I need to interrupt a wire called TPMS and connect it to the TPMS harness provided. When I open my panel I noticed that there is no wire on that slot. It is the 4th wire on the left (BCM) I looked at our other Taco and find that it exists on TRD Sports.

I assumed that because I don’t have TPMS feature on my tire explains its absence. I proceed installing the remote start kit with the apps on the cellphone and works perfectly. The only drawback is that when remote start is running, the door locks are open. When I tried to lock using the fob (H Key) the door doesn’t engaged. The remote start runs 15 mins and then turn off automatically. But it leaves the door open.

I went to Toyota to find out if there is really an OEM remote start kit and they confirmed they have it. It’s almost 900 Canadian + install 150/hour and requires 3.5 for this job. Which is way beyond my budget.

My question is. Anybody tried to install their remote start successfully (with the fob door locks functioning as it should be?) I cannot risk running it with the door open since I got lots people on the worksite.

Thank you for your kind attention and hopefully I could find direction on what’s next.
