    Hi Folks,
I just added a SnugTop shell to my Gen 3 and need to pass wires to the inside of the truck bed (drivers rear). What's the best way to get wires into the shell to power the 3rd stop light, power door lock and accessory light for the shell?

Any tips? Thanks in advance for any best practices.

    RZ Rob

Find a gap and stuff it or drill a hole (w/ a grommet. From there you can run wire wherever you need to tap

I found a gap, pry and stuffed. Years after now I’ll probably drill a hole w/ a grommet. Drilling a hole at the time on a new truck was out of the question but have time to build it out for me I don’t mind so much anymore (we’ll see)

The Dealer did not wire it up for you, mine did, but perhaps you bought it used?

I asked the dealer to drill a hole in the, in my case, unused bed light cover panel.

I have seen another picture on this website that the wire was routed between the plastic bed cap and the bed.

Here you go. I drilled one hole, and added a grommet. The wires, encased in a loom, snake under the lip of the shell, and back, up to the fuse box included with the shell. The fuse box feeds the 3rd stoplight, dome light, and accessory outlet. (Two of the wires run under the truck directly to the battery. Running those wires was actually the hardest part of the job.)
