@banditcamp , I was going to say pretty much the same thing. We looked into doing railroad ties for a raised garden a few years back and all the info about creosote leaching into the soil scared us away.

We stopped at a place in Ball Ground, GA called Frankfurt Doner and Meats. Its a good place to stop if you like German food.

All my rigs are purpose built. From crawling to camping. I also enjoy a nice stock truck for what that’s worth. Toyota’s are the jam!
Hey guys, some of you know I own a landscape company, and just saw this post.
For years many people used old RR beams for beds. And yes people know they were chemically treated, but felt that the years and years of weathering, has gotten rid of that toxic crap.
Well not so much, unfortunately older material will continue to leach into the soil.
If it were for a grades that your consuming things from, I would say there are several over options and the stoutness of the beams, doesn’t put weight what they are made of…caustic materials. Keep that away from you and your belly :)

Would be better to use logs from your property. That’s what I got rocking up in NC. I used Loctus limbs.

Here is a little write up on it:

Yeah we definitely won't be eating from these beds. It's strictly for flowers.

Some of my beds being built.
Filled with leaves, non-treated wood scraps, soil, compost, moss, water pearls. I mulch with pine shavings from Tractor Supply. Cheap, effective and decompose in a year.
After a year tge bed gets stained. Beds sit on a 2" of gravel, to keep the rain run off moving under them.
Sam's Club has good landscaping fabric for cheap at this time of the year.

This photo of your truck has me sold. Yours looks so good.. I definitely want them. The only difference is I'm going with grey on a white truck.

Yeah! That was the day I mounted them and before I added the TRD center caps. I ran them like that for two years before doing the center cap mod. Easy job. Took maybe 15-20 minutes of filing & sanding to secure a good fit.

I'm gonna run mine with white letters out too. It just looks so good. I've loved 80s toyota's my whole life. I do love my truck don't get me wrong. I smile every time I look at it but nothing is cooler than the 80s trucks.

I've only seen one other set of FN Five Stars in Georgia and they were also Bronze. I think it was around Atlanta or Savannah. Oh yeah- White letters all the way! 1980s Tonka Style for the win.

That is sweet. I bet I drove 1000 miles on my knees as a kid with my toy trucks. My mom use to get mad because I'd use the water hose and make mud holes to drive through.

How did they fit 35s without cutting and reshaping the firewall?

I am sure their UCA allows for adjusting forward, and the certainly have a CMC.
Other than that mine can clear 35s as well. You will most likely loose your factory mud flaps. Really it depends on your UCA setup.

BTW I have the same tires. They pull to the right like a pig on a reverse nascar track but I love them!

I would say 2-4 mpg depending on your driving style and of course your normal commute. My Tacoma lost about 1-2 mpg going from 31” P-rated street tires to 32” P-rated AT’s, my F150 lost about 5 mpg going from a 32” C tire to a 33” E tire.
