    In my younger days, I hiked most of the Appalachian Trail between Shenandoah Nat'l Park in VA and the Susquehanna River in PA.
    In sections of 50 miles or so.
    But I always wanted to do the whole thing in one season.

    I waited too long.
    My left ankle won't take the weight of a pack plus the constant pounding of hiking on all the rocks.
    Old foot injury resulting from exhaustion (trying to push a job to completion), and then a mis-step...

    To you young guys:
    The saying "What doesn't kill you makes you stronger"...is all bullshit.
    You will pay for old injuries, eventually.
    And injuries happen when you push yourself too hard.

    But you won't listen to Uncle Gritto, will you? :rolleyes:
