Holy heck! Here we go ladies and gents!!!!!

Let's see if we can make this year's turn out bigger than last year!

We'll be taking a slightly different route from Harlingen to SPI. There's a map screenshot below with the new route. Thank you all for your input! Wixo, thank you for the screenshot, sir.

    ****** Traveling info.******

If you're not going to be able to make it, please don't post any comments saying so. I'm not trying to sound rude or offensive, but when people post things like "Well, I can't make it out because so and so... ...take lots of pics guys!!!" it takes away some of the positivity of the thread.
Like I said, I'm not trying to be rude, just honest. :)

Request the day off if you think you might work that day.

For those of you in the SA area, you can ride out that same morning, preferably no later than 5:30 am from there:

I'm sure most of the people from the SA or surrounding areas will probably leave 1 or 2 days ahead of time so no worries. :D

BUUUUUUUT since that might not be convenient for everyone you can always just hit the road and either meet up somewhere along the road/at a stop or at SPI

From there we'll drive down to the Corpus area and meet with the guys and or gals from there in an area:

From there we'll ride down and stop in Harlingen to refuel (there is a Bass Pro Shop where we'll meet) and meet up with more people in that area if they haven't already headed to SPI. From there we'll head out to Port Isabel and get everybody together in the Walmart parking lot and wait for about 30-45 minutes for any stragglers :p and buy stuff for grillin'and beers and chips and what not...

    So

5:30 Leave SA -5:45 am the latest - (For those leaving the SA area that morning)

7:30-7:45 Leave Corpus area after meeting up with the tacomaworldlings from there. :p Meeting at the Walmart at this address :

    3829 U.S. 77
    Corpus Christi, TX 78410
For those joining us from the RGV:
8:15AM-8:30AM: Meet up at 508 W I-2, Pharr, Tx 78577 where the Bridge Bar and Grill is.
We'll say hi and stuff until 8:30Am which is when we will take off to Harlingen and meet up with the SA/CC Bro's and Broettes. From there we follow their schedule.

9:30-9:45 Arrive in Harlingen, maybe refuel there. Meet more tacomaworldlings there. We'll meet in the Bass Pro Shop parking lot in Harlingen, wait for about 15-20 minutes for any stragglers.

101 Bass Pro Drive, Harlingen, TX 78552

10:30-10: 45 Arrive/ meet everybody in Port Isabel walmart parking lot, buy any last minute things…

11:15 leave together for SPI then regroup outside of Access 6 before going in
    .

With 2-3 stops between SA and SPI that timing sounds about right. :)

Would you consider an alternative route other than the Los Fresnos route? As of right now, there’s still construction like last year. I’m a local truck driver and take the Rio hondo Route often and it is a pretty sweet drive. It does add a few miles, but would save some time and headaches this coming summer. There are a few Routes to consider.

Traffic sucks through Los Fresnos. Going through fm 511 might be a good option.

So this is just my suggestion. I think meeting at the bass pro shop is a great idea. Upon departure we will head 4 miles north and head east on fm 508 into Rio Hondo, which turns into 106, which leads you to Laguna vista and Port Isabel. 086AD712-F97C-4F2E-842F-4360B7342317.jpg B4865BBA-13EC-44A9-8DDC-1C612E2733E7.jpg

Me and @Wixo took the exit in San Benito right by the Freddy Fender water tower and headed north to that highlighted route. We were the first ones at Walmart in SPI last year. I think it’s faster taking the SB exit to avoid driving through Rio Hondo.

Not just the traffic, all the thirsty cops on that road. Im not sure if that Rio Hondo route leads to the same place my San Benito-Laguna Madre route does, but Im sure it beats Los Fresnos.

I would say for ease of making it there, and less miles traveled, we go to the Freddy Tower from Bass Pro, and turn north. About 5 miles from there we take a back road straight to laguna madre.

Here's another option. Head south on 77 to San Benito. Exit FM 510 by the Matt's Building Supplies. This will save mileage and time vs the Combes route.
