It will be fine. If there are any issues the computer will pull timing. Just don’t do any 6100rpm pulls.

Thanks. Tried telling her that too. I have a buddy picking up a bottle of octane booster. Should be ok.

Normal. Add the octane boost - available everywhere gas is sold and then get the sticker that came with your SC kit that says "Premium Gas Only" and put it on the gas cap - and make her read and repeat it 100 times. Then take her key away and get her a Kia. GL.

Thank you gentlemen for the help with flashing my computer. I finally figured out how to get around the security systems to allow me to download the latest version of vF tuner. Got it done and it started up instantly. Tomorrow I will run it and check for leaks, top off the fluids, and then take it for a run. I'm excited to say the least!

These are helpful as a reminder: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08C2FV4RN

Since I’m in Oregon I have to be paranoid every time I go to get gas because I’m not the one running the pump. I always watch to make sure I’m getting the right stuff.

I’ve been to places when I was younger where you had the option of service or self service.

I’m stretching my brain, but cannot come up with a legitimate reason to not let someone pump their own fuel.

Are there legit reasons? Besides the political of course.

Is the VF Tuner software included with the maggy kit a "Lite Version"? Are there two different version?

Any way to update to Current available version of 1.5.7.x?

    My current version is below.

You will be 100% fine as long as she drives normally. No aggressive driving. Get down half a tank and add 93 octane to top it off.

I just updated my Maggie "Lite" version of the software yesterday. Just downloaded the files direct from the vftuner website.

I came from California so I’ve only dealt with this the last 5 years. My understanding is that it is done so that the entry level job of pumping gas is preserved. Also seems like some Oregonians, never having pumped their own gas, think that you need to be a “professional” to run the pump.

Not unless you view the existence of that unneeded job as necessary.

Is considered a liability, depending on state laws regarding blame for spills. To my understanding, there are laws that a pump must never go unattended. This goes a step further for some, so they remove the pump handle latch, then post that it is illegal to stick your gas cap in the handle. If you live in a state where the station is responsible for spills at the pump, then they likely do not allow self serve. As long as the laws hold the individual activating the pump responsible for spills, you likely have the option to pump yourself.

Though the creation of entry level jobs seems legit these days also.

That’s probably the most valid reason I’ve heard.

The liability one is probably true, but I say hold the liable people liable. Don’t penalize the others.

But regarding the creation of entry level jobs: I’m all for creating productive jobs. But I have a hard time seeing this one as productive. Given the option to pump myself or have someone pump it for free, I’m going to pump my own gas.

Out of curiosity, how are these attendants paid? Is there a gas surcharge that pays their salary?

Fair enough, there’s always that concern. I spent a year in upstate New York on lake Champlain. Damn cold sometimes so I get what you’re saying.

Well I finally got the Magnuson installed yesterday. It’s a totally different beast combined with 529‘s. However, I’ve got some chirping going on and I’m wondering what’s a Magnuson is a supposed to sound like, or possibly do I have a bad pulley?
