On My last vehicle, a 97 Jeep Cherokee, I installed a remote start. I miss it already.

Does anybody make a plug and play remote start kit for the later second gen? (in this case a 2015)

I'm not against soldering wires, but I'd rather leave the harness intact if I had my way.

probably not going to find one due to liability issues stemming from remote start and a truck left in gear.

@Hansj3 I haven't seen a plug and play but have seen some that can be wired in. The clutch start cancel button let's you start without the clutch so it's definitely possible.

Compustar makes a remote for manual. Been looking into it for my subaru. These new cars have the gear selector tied into the ecu and there is a wire you can tap so it will not start in gear. As far as a shop goes, they will prob have a link on their site.

All the remote starts for manual transmissions I’ve used have a safety feature that will not allow it to work with the transmission in gear and require a specific set of actions in order to set the system as “ready”. Generally stop, shift to neutral, set the parking brake, turn off the ignition and then get out. After you get out the engine shuts off, vehicle locks and the system is armed. If you come back and do anything, to include just unlocking a door, the system is disarmed and the remote start will not function.

You’re supposed to leave it in 1st when parked…

I don’t see how remote start would work with that

idk, I would rather go out in the cold than have some rats nest of wire in my car. But, I think that compustar is the only one for manual.
