I just recently washed my truck and noticed around the rear passenger door window, the paint is literally flaking off and I can see bare metal now. I can't believe it! I bought this brand new in 2016 and it has 69xxx miles. Have other White Tacoma's have this problem? Did I just get the bad batch of paint when they did mine?

I am at a loss on what to do. My warranty was up after 5 years and I feel like if I complain to the dealership they are going to not want to do anything. Any suggestions? This is crazy I spent over 40k on this truck and now I have to worry about this becoming a nasty rust spot in a few years or pay a bunch of money to have it re-painted.

*side note when I bought the truck from the dealership, I was told it was trucked up straight from the factory. When having it detailed, the guy showed me how the front bumper and the rest of the truck are two different shades of white. Did the dealership break it, fix it and give it to me or did Toyota do that to all white Tacoma's?

I feel like I was taken and now I'm stuck with it.

This is so common Toyota needs to eliminate white from their lineup altogether.

I see online some folks with certain years and "super white" have got letters indicating that Toyota is aware of the problem and will fix it. I have not received a letter. Is there a complaint department where I can file something with them?

Is it? I haven't heard of issues with the other white.
I feel your pain, OP. I had paint issues on a Subaru years ago. Ended up selling it. Sucks.

Other models had fix campaigns paid for by Toyota (Corolloa and I am sure others). But they have yet to do that with Tacoma. It's shitty paint/prep and I agree it should be pulled from all models.
