    hi

I was wondering if anyone has taken a 6ft bed double cab/frame and stuck a 5 ft bed on the back and "extra-extended the double cab in the additional foot available in front of the rear wheels.

The benefit of this mod would be to have a good-wide sleeping space in the 2nd-row if seats could be modified to fold completely flat. Not really looking for leg-space while sitting, in sitting mode, it could recline seats better and also allow for some additional storage in the back.

    Has anyone seen such a custom-mod ?

So you are basically wanting to make a Triple Cab, wouldn't it be easier to just get an SUV?

I heard they are doing this on 4th gens.

TBF though... I have seen this done on 90's chevy's. One was in High School and they took a long bed then turned it into a 4 door. This was back when 4 doors trucks were RARE!

I have a sneaky suspicion the effort would not be worth it here. Especially with the way campers have been implemented in recent years.

I doubt a foot will be enough to get the seat to fold completely flat. Also you'd probably need to be about 4'10" to sleep in the back seat of the truck. :D

When you go full send so hard that whole "Truck nuts" & "small peen compensation" reverses itself and now you are the most hung mfer on the road in the entire state.

It would need so much body work and interior work that it would be a non-starter, IMO.

Sounds like you should get a Tundra Crew Max

    I kinda like it :anonymous:

Family has a Ram 2500 Mega cab. I can recline in the back of that thing. It's like a Bentley for Rednecks. I have seen A LOT of trucks like that up here in MT though... most are well over $100k easy and probably towing a couple million in gear too. But I'm weird... I like the extra big cabs even though I personally have no use for them. I'd just throw a bunch of subwoofers back there :D

Probably not quite enough room, in this instance, but it made me think about a regular double cab, with the back of an access cab grafted on.
Wish I had the photoshop skills to see what that might look like!
