Speaking of Tony. You have a link to the tracker he has?

Funny you should ask. We had a whistle 3 for almost 6 years and then AT&T was going to drop 3G support, so the solution was to get the new whistle tracker. They were like “lol fuck off, best we can do is give you 20% off.”

I decided to look elsewhere and landed on Tractive. Significantly cheaper for the module itself and the annual subscription is a bit cheaper too.

In the pictures it looks a lot bulkier than the whistle but it’s only 1.5 oz versus 1.3 oz.

This all went down like a week ago so I haven’t had the opportunity to see how it works if Tony gets out but so far I’m impressed with it.

Ok cool. Fancy has started running off to the neighbor's yard. She comes back, but I don't want her to leave a pile over there for them. And I had a mild scare the other night. Will look into. Thanks!

I miss the times when your welding table was a cardboard box & it would catch fire. Now you are fancy like Applebee's on a date night

Did you try to find a source for replacement breathers? I just broke off both of mine and would rather just replace them then the whole starter.

I didn't even look, to be honest. I did just pull up the starter diagram though and don't see them there either.

I’m sure that’s why mine broke off on my original starter. I had to pull the starter off to gain wiggle room on motor mount install and that’s when they broke off. Shortly thereafter I had starter problems.

Interesting you had to move the starter, there was room when I did my mount install, but when I just cut off and made a new frame side mount I pulled the wire going to it for better access.

I only needed the access to fish the old mount out through the wheel well. I could have split the OEM mount and fished it out in two pieces but I figured removing the starter would be easier, and it really wasn't too bad.

You have me wondering now if I should just replace it given its 18 years old lol. Did you go OEM or a reman?

Both! OEM reman, which was all that OEM was offering surprisingly. They're doing free shipping currently if you wanted to take advantage of it. After my core return and the associated shipping costs and tax, it'll have been about $180, which was on par with the auto parts stores starters.

Damnit!!!! Of course they are doing free shipping literally the day after my order is delivered! Crazy that I work 7 minutes from them but even with paying for shipping it was cheaper then buying from their desk. The guy even gave me all the part numbers and suggested I "use my phone to order the bill of material" so I didn't have to pay retail like i would have to if I bought in person.

Very cool guys over there. Actually frequent them fairly regularly.

I love McGeorge! It was explained on here before why online is so much cheaper but basically, it's some loophole that the dealers take advantage of to disassociate their physical dealer from their online dealer because they can't offer those discounts in person. Pretty wild stuff.

Often times you don't have to pay local taxes on online transactions. This is why my wife does all her transactions through Etsy even if its a local sale.
