Yesterday I found out my next door neighbor is an alphabet boi. Nice guy too, happy to have him there. Also found out yesterday the guy across the street is the manager of brewing operations at one of the breweries in town. Really starting to like this hood!

Anybody have an ultrasonic parts cleaner? I was thinking of grabbing the one from harbor freight for $85 but want to ask around. They sell a powder that you mix with water to become the cleaning solution but its not for use on aluminum and I plan to use it for bicycle parts in addition to car parts. Not sure if an individual can get their hands on the Safety Clean solution we used to use in bike shops.

Hey gang, taking battery recommendations for the desert.

I'm considering getting a Gold and forking the money up for a 3yr warranty to in essence get 2 batteries for the price of one, but wanted to check here for the locals.

I've already replaced my wife's battery twice, and replaced my old Colorado's once in 4years in AZ.

AGM battery will last the longest. You’ll need a tune to increase the alternator output voltage on the 3rd gens though if you want it to fully charge. The battery would probably still be fine and live a long life though without it. I recommend the Batteries Plus X2 which is a rebranded Northstar AGM.

Had an AGM since 2018 had issues with it. Replaced it recently with an Napa Premium battery. 7yr warranty plus no more worries about charging the AGM right.

Napa doesn’t carry a 7-year that I could find. The have this “6-year” but it’s really a 3-year replacement and subsequent 3-year prorated discount on a replacement.

3-years is usually where conventional Lead Acid top out at anyways. My AGM is a 6-year replacement and with the increased charging voltage from my alternator, there is no down side. Not all AGM’s, well batteries for that matter, are made equal.

Thats the one I have/had from batteries plus. Yea, dead in 3yrs. Oh, and god forbid you try to warranty it with the batteries plus up here. The owner wont do it because "paperwork" since I bought it in florida.
So, FUCK BATTERIES PLUS. Pretty much.

Oh and yea. thats pretty much how they run 3yrs free prorated after. Either way, $50 for battery after 5yrs aint bad.
