    This one is similar:
    https://www.rockauto.com/en/moreinfo.php?pk=2849259&pt=1000334&jsn=1

I discovered something ate/removed the padding under the engine cover so bought some of this to make a new one. Far as I can tell it's the same stuff I bought originally.

For pins, I just got underhood temp rated pins from Amazon to keep it in place. If it's good enough for OEMs...

Cross winds can be nasty noisy in my 2019 Sport, so I already ordered some weather strip.

No, you have to cut to size/shape. i.e. spend a couple hours making yourself a cardboard template.

I recently installed the weather stripping linked in this thread on all 4 doors, minus the bottom near the drains. I traveled the same road immediately prior and immediately after installation and took SPL readings using an iPhone app.

    At 70 mph:

    Before: 68 db
    After: 68 db

    No change.

I think this myth is busted. Fwiw I used high quality Home Depot molding and had similar results

Agreed. Unless the original stripping is failing, I think this is largely unnecessary.

Ah man, the title brought me in, so read first 3 pages, go out to the garage look at mine, take photos, think maybe the SR5 is different than the '19 DCSB OR, get ready to post photos, see a post about MLV on the back wall (that's what I have been thinking as the source of the noise - so yay! confirm my bias) continue reading, see the pool floaty snake thing, show my wife, she laughs, (am then reminded of a meme on the FB - a (female) friend posted funny guys are dangerous, they make you laugh and laugh and laugh and then boom, you're naked) get to the end, and....well, deflated. My secondary weather-stripping is fine and truck is way quieter than my 2002 with the dash rattle (TSB NV006-02). I guess I'll head back to the Ultimate Headlight Thread (no effin-leds) there are 280 pages I can read through for ways to spend money.

When installing (retrofitting) a sound system in my (new to me) 2019 TRD Pro Tacoma, I noticed those vents. I thought they'd be an issue. I deadened the hell out of that inside back wall, but I'm getting a TON of noise through there still so I'll try some of these methods. Thanks!

I'll have to revisit this thread whenever I take delivery of a Tacoma. Currently driving an '11 Titan for the last 11 years and never noted it to be unusually loud at freeway speeds, even compared to my wife's Mercedes.

So I purchased 20ft of the product that the OP mentioned and the quality is definitely OEM. I wrapped the entire passenger side and did not have any issues with the doors closing like others reported. I still wish I didn't do the bottom of the door after realizing the drain points that were mentioned previously. The 20ft worked for one side as previously mentioned, and I am on the fence whether I buy more for the driver side. It made a noticeable difference, but not a huge difference. The bigger improvement was sound deadening the rear wall/floor-- specifically the vents. I don't know the consequences fully, but I put two layers of Noico 80 mil over them completely and until I hear the truck is going implode, they are staying. It makes a difference for sure and is an easy fix if I need to peel it back off. I am going to try the pool noodle trick that others have mentioned in here... seems like a cheap experimental mod.

I gave the weather stripping a try and there is definitely a slight improvement on the highway. Didn't measure anything but I went from listening to music from around 30-35 to 25-30 and podcasts from 40-45 to 30-35 at around 75 mph. Below 65mph, I don't really notice a difference from before.

You should uncover those. You can put some breathable foam over them to help with the noise, but the build up
of air pressure has to go somewhere. You can weaken your door seals or other part as the air tries to escape through
other areas, or in severe cases, blow out a window. It can also be hell on your ears as the pressure builds up in the cabin.

I had a Subaru Impreza that, unbeknownst to me, had the venting completely covered. A coworker and I got into the car, closed the doors at exactly the same time, and the rear hatch window blew out. Scared the piss out of us. It also took a while to figure out why it had blown out.

My next adventure in making a quieter driving experience. Reduce intake noise. I seem to be extra bothered by noise around 100hz - which is where I find the intake/exhaust extra loud. I built a helmholtz resonator and it reduces cabin noise by about 2.5db at 2000rpm. When I accelerate, it has almost completely eliminated the rise in intake noise as the tach sweeps through 2000rpm and the drone when I'm climbing hills at a bit under 2000rpm.

I need to do more testing and relocate it closer to the air filter box (but where?).

The pool noodle trick is the best. Look at a Ford Ranger with both doors open and see a 15 inch rubber seal on the pillar. looking at it I got an idea and tried about 16 inches of the rubber weather stripping along the post from the roof line down to about where the bottom of the window would be. To me it seemed a to make it a little more quiet. Keep in mind I have no complaints with wind noise but I did dyno mat behind the rear seat and dropped the headliner and added some interior frabric sound deadner when I had my sub and amp installed soley for stereo sound improvements.
