11 DCLB getting a new frame

Bought her in for a frame spray.
Frame failed inspection, getting a new frame. NY truck and I washed the frame regularly. I thinking about having 5100 installed and having my traction control gremlin sorted out. Hopefully I will be able to 20 years out if her.

 

Wonder if I should bring my truck in for spray.
I just got this thing a few months ago. My frame looks okay with some surface rust but no holes.

 

What year is your truck? The service campaign for the frame treatment expires next month so you’re SOL if you haven’t had it done by then.

 

My frame looked decent to good. I am very surprised it failed.

 

2012 is the year. But I thought they will guarantee for 10 years.

 

Frame replacement program is for 12 years from the date the truck was put into service but only if you have the treatment done first.

 

Did you find out where the hole in the frame was?

Just an fyi If you have your truck under coated by the dealer you may not be happy in a couple years down the road, now is not the time especially in the North East. Truck needs to be thouroghly douched and dried, preferably on a lift with heat to dry it out.Have seen a number of first gens and seconds that they just hose over all the sand ,salt ,calcium and year or 2 later the truck is well on its way to bring junk, but the body is still mint!

 

The dealership does not undercoat the frame, they fill it (internally)with wax.
