I'm a biker( ride a motorcycle not a 1%) but the guy on the bike started and escalated the situation. The guy in the car is on the edge of killing someone. The biker is going to get himself hurt one day.

Definitely an example of when assholes collide. But not in a Jennifer Connelly Requiem for a Dream way, and I guess they didn't actually collide.

kinda my thoughts as well. even before the interaction he was riding in the left lane getting passed on the right. What the hell is he doing? That bike must be a 250 or something low powered for the car to keep up with out an issue on accleration

That's my guess as well.. a kid on a 250 or 300cc bike. Even the vtwin 650s can whip most modern grocery getters by 3 to 4 seconds 0-60 (and the inline 600s are even quicker) That's enough time to accelerate distance, decelerate for the turn and double back on the divided highway. Of course Monday morning quarterbackin' is easy when there isn't a 4000 lb object trying to flatten you and your adrenaline isn't hitting the rev limiter.

Lane splitting is illegal Florida; so what? That doesn’t empower that idiot driver to go after the bike much less endanger others by driving like some half-ass stunt man. If that sort of thing makes him that angry, especially in such light traffic, he shouldn’t be driving at all. I imagine he would absolutely lose his mind in So Cal where traffic is far heavier and there is lane splitting all around.
In 40 years of riding, I have never had a driver pull such a stupid stunt. Here, with traffic and all, I could have easily gotten away with some lane splitting. A side walk, narrow walkway, bike path, even a horse trail, would have let me go and stop him. First priority would be putting some distance between myself and this psycho, second would have been getting his plate and face recorded for the PD. I think that little temper tantrum would have resulted in an arrest.
The rider wasn’t helping anything with flipping off the driver and antagonizing him, let alone his riding. He was recording it all, it might have been a better idea to just stop and let the driver dig himself a bigger hole by making threats or trying to put his hands on the guy. That driver is destined to play that game with the wrong guy one day and he is going to get hurt.

What a shit show. On my 250 dual sport I’d just ride somewhere four wheels can’t follow. On my 1250R there are very few cars on the road that can do a 3 second 0-60, go over 130mph and still be able to fit where a motorcycle can go once they catch up.

im often amazed at how fast you can diffuse a situation with "my bad" or "sorry" i think that would have been his best bet Even if he was in the less wrong. as someone who carries its important to not escalate things and even better to de-escalate which could save you alot of money and possible jail time

agreed that driver will kill someone someday.

I agree. It can be difficult, at times, to check your ego but the outcome is far better. When carrying, you really have a responsibility to take the high road. I never want to have to shoot someone. That outcome would be the result of someone leaving me no other choice. I don’t want the legal aftermath and I wouldn’t want the taking someone’s life on my conscience, regardless of circumstances.
Really, who cares if some idiot driver thinks he got over on you, take the recording to the PD and let them deal with it. An arrest and arraignment will settle that guy right down. Better him entering a plea than you.
