Does anyone know if the 30k diff and t-case maintenance involves replacing the gasket for the front diff actuator? From the service report, it looks like it might:

I had the service done then got a "2wd - 4wd Mode Change Failure" light. I pulled off the skid plate and found this:

    And this:

And it looks like they replaced the gasket:

They should have at least noted that the breather line was snapped off, right?

EDIT: as the folks below have mentioned. The gaskets are not for the ADD. this is a separate issue.

I'm not seeing a new gasket, nor am I seeing any witness marks on the bolts...

This is why I dont trust shops

Also you are posting in the 2nd gen section, when you apparently have a 2017? (3rd gen)

There should be no reason to remove the actuator and replace the gasket when servicing the diff unless it was leaking, they should have noted the hose not being attached though as that's where water and dirt can get inside the actuator and ruin it.

The gaskets metioned on the bill I'm thinking are the sealing washers that go on the drain and fill plugs.

The ADD does not use a pre made gasket. You use an instant gasket like 3M bound or permanex etc.

Those contacts inside the ADD are corroded. Eek!

Its coincidence. The dealer didnt come anywhere close to that area of the front diff. There is a drain and fill plug "gasket" (crush washer) on both diffs and the tcase

Nahh, the dealer isn’t to blame there.

There are 2 types of actuators on these trucks. The ones that have failed. And the ones that are going to fail.

There are two types of replacement actuators too, OEM and cheapo. Cheapo will fail almost immediately, at the worst farking time.

    Don’t go cheapo, buy OEM!
