Ha ha all depends on the lens and when/where to use it. Here are 2 similar pics taken on the same camera with the same lens BEFORE and AFTER I understood the concept of aperture and how to get that nice blurry background.

Nice pix. I bought a Nikon years ago with the intent on learning. that fizzled out and to be honest... Have no idea where it is now.

Go for it! With those 2 lenses though it's going to be hard to get the really nice blurry backgrounds.

Rite rite. Sooooo, your saying to take a brillo pad the outer most part of the lens all the way around?

    just kidding.

Lol for the blurry background you want the aperture number to be as low as possible, preferably F2.8 or lower. Yours lenses in the picture are F4-5.6 for the 55-200mm and F3.5-5.6 for the 18-55mm.

Gotcha. Now sprek English to me.

Not to derail the Pooches thread.. I foresee me looking down the rabbit hole. Do you know of a good link or something for the new starter to check out?

This video is fantastic and easy to follow along for shooting in manual (versus automatic where the camera makes all the decisions) for both photography and videos:

Get it… because I want to ride it hah. Tiffany and I just got back from a ride with a buddy over to Elkton. He’s got a few bikes but took his honda 1800 VTX with street tires and, I’m not shitting you, hit 40 on a gravel road fish tailing. What I’ve started to realize though is generally it’s not so much the bike as it is the riders mindset. Like you can take a dirt bike across country and take a cruiser on a gravel roads… if you want to.:bikewhoops:

    Edit

Flip side… You could never ride your dirt bike off road or only ride a street bike when it’s between 70 and 80 outside. :crapstorm:

    Haha. Rite rite.

The bike is a tool and doesn’t matter the bike to an experienced rider. Now…. Most will only use said certain style bike for the what it’s designed for. others will let it eat and enjoy it, with the biggest smile.

Good deal on you two getting out on the two wheels.

Holy shit, that bike is sick! I would love to give that a spin around the block. I've always loved Indian bikes, didn't know they made one like that.

She is damn sexy. From what I’ve read, a lot of improvements and changes in the bike since 2019. YouTubes all agree and say it’s pretty much dead on, now.

Do I need this? No. Do I waaannt this, oh hell yeah! I don’t see it happening though. I like the dirt to much.

i keep looking at scramblers too, but it’s not going to replace a dirt bike. Ducati’s desert sled seems pretty capable but I wouldn’t consider +400lbs flickable in the woods. I have no idea what I’m going to end up with, I change my mind after every review I read.

I read a review on the Ducati desert scramble this weekend. Sweet looking bike but I got the same impression that it's not going to replace a dirt bike. Guess you'll just need to get two, one to commute and one to play!

Yea that’s my thought too. I’d like a commuter to be on the softer side to handle some fire roads. You done any thinking about what you are going to get?
