Was installing my platform/fridge today and realized my Ben’s bug pray had leaked. It got all over a pair of gloves and dropped onto the door panel.
Anyone have this happen or have good ideas on where to get replacement trim?

I know it isn't much help with your current situation, but Picaridin based bug spray won't damage plastic. I've seen lots of high end outdoor gear damaged by DEET.

I use this stuff, but usually get it from a local store.
    https://www.amazon.com/Sawyer-Products-SP543-Repellent-Picaridin/dp/B0015KG5NK?ref_=ast_sto_dp&th=1

Edit: I also use a thermacell when camping and a mosquito head net when they are really bad. (my youngest kid hates bugs)

Thanks for the information. It never even crossed my mind that bug spray could dissolve. I’ll be using an alternative for sure.

Why? If it will do that to plastic it will f those bugs up real good. I’m switching to that after this.

lol. There is always that guy.

"Can I have a bottle of skin cancer please? Thank you."

Might not help your situation OP, and not applicable to days out with the shirt off in shorts and such, but if you can, wear long sleeves and use natural stuff like citrus based scents. Apple cider vinegar also does wonders. TBH, some places are just worse than others and sometimes you are just like "fuck it, I'm buying chemicals". But I fish a lot and I just wear a long sleeve get up and a goofy hat if I have to ;)

I've still got a couple bottles of REI Jungle Juice 98% DEET for when you have to keep every mother fucking mosquito in a 1/4 mile range away from you.........

Our duck opener is the worst and I've tried alternatives to DEET but when you literally have a couple thousand around you at all times the deet is the only thing that works. I put it on before getting dressed (all over) and spray the clothes I'm wearing in it as well. Guaranteed the mosquitoes will find the one or two spots you missed. We get bit through our shirts.

Key is to let it soak in first before toughing anything plastic or a camo dipped gun.

You sound like my wife. “If we put out borax and jelly they will carry it back to the queen and then we use the vinegar to make a boarder” two week later still dealing with it. I step in with bug killer brake clean and gasoline. 24 hours later…no more bugs.

Deet I used a lot of as a Florida surveyor when in swamps. Eons ago. That stuff will haze a plastic watch face too.

In recent years when travelling to locations with no pest control (Cuba, Guatemala, Argentina etc) we've switched to Picaridin.

Works pretty well on no-see-ums and ticks as well as 'skitters

I keep a bottle of concentrated permathrin for spraying anything around the house. I think you're supposed to have a license to use it, but I can only hear colors for a few hours after I use it.
