Hi everyone. I am brand new here and to my first Toyota Tacoma. I am very confused by all the different oil filters! I thought I did my research, but now I am not sure. I ordered a box of what I thought to be correct oil filters for my truck. I have a 2021 tacoma sr 4x4 with the v6 3.5. Can anyone verify if this part number will fit my engine 90915-YzzD3.

I ordered what i thought was the correct filter for my 2021 taco 3.5 v6, but it turns out it was the wrong one! Long story short, i changed my oil and put the YZZA5 filter on my truck. I did not notice any issues when putting it on. Next day, i find out that the correct filter is the YZZA1! Since the A5 filter went on ok, do you think it will be ok to run that filter till my next oil change and then put the correct one on? They must be very close to identical in size for it to fit ok. Thanks for your input!

I am not sure what the difference is, but for my peice of mind, I would swap in the correct one. It may be shorter and completely bypassing as a result.

A quick search online and it looks like it fits 4Runner, fj cruiser, and the tundra. It does not say anything about the Tacoma. I would not run it.

OP, Also beware of counterfeit filters sold online. A quick Google shows that it's a real world problem.

A quick search tells me the A1 filter is 4.1 x 3.1 inches and the A5 is 4.8 x 3.2 inches, the 4" measurement being the height. The A5 probably got squished down a little when you tightened the housing. Will it still work OK? Probably...maybe? You decide, if you're not comfortable with it it's not that big of a deal to swap for the right one.

Does anyone have a recommendation on an aluminum oil filter cap? These OEM plastic ones cracked on me.
