Hey guys. Need some help. I did many searches here but coundn't find the info I was looking for. I just got my new 22 Tacoma. I want to upgrade all of the interior lights to led. I work nightshift and leave the house at 11:30ish so I will actually be using these lights daily. I was looking on Amazon and I always look at reviews. What I found was horror stories of guys putting in bulbs and frying electrical systems. One that comes to mind is lights not turning off at all so disconnecting the battery is a must. So I guess the question is.....what brand is safe? I get that chinese brands are sketchy.

I got a cheap Amazon set and they're fine, but I was actually just looking into the VLED interior kit the other day. A little pricey, but I really like that you can pick the color temperature. The Amazon ones I have are a very cool white and I prefer a slightly warmer light. But yes, definitely disconnect your battery when you install juuust in case.

That's not a very nice dealer.

I replaced mine with a kit from Precision LED. 2 have burnt out and they honored their lifetime warranty no questions asked. There are also kits available from Diode Dynamics if you're just looking to swap bulbs to LED. The MESO stuff is nice and HELLA bright if you go that route.

I just want to add that I'd recommend you disconnect the battery when you replace the bulbs. I know it sounds overkill, but your dealer is a douche and you don't want to take your truck there with an electrical short.

Full of shit. Keep the original bulbs in your tool chest and consider using a different dealer for service.

The Meso dual colors are the best I've seen for this truck.

if you want to got at a decent price get the bulb numbers and go to your local advance auto or oreilley. they should have the silvania and the Zevos. even the cheaper silvania will work and they are decently bright and more consistent than a random china factory. i did that for my Sonata all the bulbs besides the headlight an dturn signals where Silvania Zevo

Meso Customs for map and dome lights for sure. Check their website or the 3rd gen marketplace thread on TW. I purchased my set used from a fellow TW member...both for $58. It's a world of difference from the halogens!

So did you end up changing your bulbs to led? I think I read the same Amazon post on the leds causing issues.
