Wow that's a lot of stuff and rounds. I'm not shooting that much in a year. One of the guys I shoot with reloads and I've almost got into it. I talked to him about starting reloading and he pretty much said it might be a wash for how much I shoot. I have noticed the speed makes a big difference for max handicap vs 16yrd. It also is very noticeable to me at least when shooting wobble. I still havent got a 25 but I've gotten many 24s.:frusty: Hopefully this summer that all changes!

I originally started with a Winchester SXP Black Shadow then I got my current Beretta A300 Outlander because I got it for a great deal on Black Friday! I think I have a modified in now because I'm usually not shooting handicap. For a while I was missing them left and right with the full so I went to modified and started doing much better. I just needed a tad bit larger pattern. Also the Winchester was almost getting to small for me so when I got to the Beretta it definitely fit me better.

Those Krieghoffs are really nice. I score at ATA tournaments and I see all the nice Kolars, Ithicas, Benellis, Krieghoffs, and more. All the old guys come walking up and put their guns on the rack and slowly the $100 gun rack becomes a $100k+ gun rack. I also reload the trap houses at some of the events.

I guess your right. I shouldnt judge a book or the sketchy guy in a free candy van down by the river by its cover!

That Beretta is just fine.

I think you'll find that shooting full choke will make you get better in the long run.
You wanna smoke 'em at 16s.
That gives you instant feedback you won't get with chippy hits.

Mind you, verify at the patterning board what your chokes actually throw.
I went thru several Beretta 682 combos (mobilchokes) and the modifieds always did improved modified or better.
So you're probably shooting improved modified already with quality shells.
I still have a Beretta A391 and leave the improved modified tube in it for everything (including pheasants).
Your nominal full tube is probably overchoked.

Once you know what your choke tubes do, avoid the patterning board like the plague.
And don't get drawn into arguments about chokes. :)
