I have 2001 single cab 4x4. One of my 15", 6 lug, 7" width rims rusted through and does not hold air. I have new tires on them too... So I am looking for a new set of rims and I am STRUGGLING to find anything similar for a reasonable price.
I am not looking for any sort of look, I just want something that is similar to stock sizing and fuel economy above all else.

    My questions:
What is the offset I currently have? How far can I go without the truck looking strange? Which direction is positive offset?
How much would my mpg change if I sized up to 16"? I currently get 16-18 mpg.
Any Suggestions on rims people like? 15"? 16"?

off topic, What kind of truck do I have? I see Pre-Runner, S-Runner, TRD, Etc, but nothing labeled obviously on my vehicle or the manual.

    Thank you.

Just to be clear, you have 6 lug 15" wheels today, with new tires.

    Picture of current wheels?

Use the spare wheel with the new tire off the rotted wheel to get started.

The tire calculator will show you tire sizes you could use to keep the same overall dia if you went to a bigger wheel

But the burning question is the health of your frame and other components. Rusting out a wheel is not a simple task, and it's easy to image the frame being almost dust.

The truck is in good condition for it's age. it must of had the frame replaced at some point. Here are the rims on it currently. The back left is my spare.

I did check Facebook and Craigslist for used replacements locally. I could not find any.

3rd Gen TRD OR 16" alloys will bolt up. You can usually find them locally on CL/FBMP/OU/Etc, with OEM GY Wrangler Kevlar tires as takeoffs for cheap. ie: $400

Changing wheel size does not necessarily mean better or worse fuel economy… weight would be the main factor there. And since your using steel rims currently, upgrading to 16” aluminum would most likely help you. Just start looking for wheels that have a lug pattern of 6x139.7 or 6x5.5 (they are the exact same). You can find nice OEM wheels for cheap.

As far as your Taco model goes… it’s most likely an SR or SR5. Definitely not a PreRunner, they were 6 lug 2WD trucks with the look of a 4WD truck.

Thanks for all your responses. It sounds like I should just wait and see if I can find something used that pops up.

Does anyone have any information on Offset? What is the stock offset? How much would 1-2" difference change?

That says a trailer rim, But it looks like the same size? Does anyone see any issue with using these?

I also did track down a set of 2018 TRD 17"rims with 265/65R17 tires. I put it in the calculator and saw it would mess with the speedometer a bit.
Does anyone know how much would running this set would reduce?/improve? my MPG compared to the old 15" set?

    Thanks.

If you can get the 17’s… Get Them! It’ll throw speedo off very minimally, maybe 2-3mph at 55mph. You’ll be fine!

Thanks for the response, but why go with the 17"?? What is the benefit over the 15"?

Tires will be easier to find in the 17.
