I got my 2015 Tacoma Dbl Cab TRD in 2017 and have loved it every day since. (Before that, we had a 1990 Toyota 4x4 that we eventually sold with 250k on it). I don't need, or want, a lot of stuff on my PU but we would like to get some crossbars for the bed so we can carry our rooftop carrier but still slip our kayak/SUPs in the back. I thought about a rooftop rack but would rather keep everything in the bed.

Since the set up won't get much use I'm looking for the most affordable, yet reliable/sturdy, option that other Tacoma owners have actual experience with. I'd like one that sets low on the bed...like the Yakima BedRock HD set up, which seems to be out of stock or discontinued. A slightly higher set up would be okay but I'd like to keep it as low profile as possible.

I'd love to hear what others may have, approx. cost, and what the pros/cons are of each. Thanks!

I use tacomapocolapse bedbars. They are $360 for a pair or $470 for 3. They will not work with any tonnue covers but they are rock solid and easy to get on and off. You can get low medium or high and mine are the low ones for reference.
