    Hello fellow Taco Lovers!

Last weekend I was sitting in my truck while my daughters shopped in Target. I was looking up replacement overhead consoles for my 2019 Tacoma SR5 because when I bought the truck from Off Lease, the Bluetooth microphone was missing. As I saw one that had everything not broken I wanted to confirm it looked like mine. I took down my overhead console and noticed their were extra wires not connected to anything tucked back towards the windshield. I reached in to grab the wires and they made contact with the metal frame and small spark emitted and immediately the Lane Detection and Pre-Collusion disabled warning showed up on my dash. Naturally I thought I blew a fuse and searched the fuse box and found a 10amp fuse blown but was disappointed that this did not fix the issue. Has anyone encountered anything close to this issue? Dash says to bring it to Toyota for fixing but my local Toyota dealership is booked until next Saturday the 12th. Other dealers are like an hour away and I wouldn't have a ride back so I'm trying not to camp out at a dealership all day. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
    Thank you.
PS - The tape is on there now to stop another electrical spark from occurring. Truck1.jpg Truck2.jpg Truck3.jpg Truck4.jpg

There’s a thread somewhere here that describes your issue, I think that it’s a blown controller of some sort that going to run a couple hundred. Our resident electrical experts should chime in soon.

Makes me glad my kids are out of the house. I used to do that shit all the time. kids are at a practice of some sort or the store and of course too embarrassed to have dad present and bored little me starts dissembling my truck. You should see the eye rolls when they get back to the car and I am sitting there with the stereo in my lap

Thank you everyone for the replies. I looked up the part, definitely like a couple hundos for sure. =( I'm gonna wait I guess until Toyota confirms its the BCM. I was hoping it was some sort of relay or what not that I could switch out myself & afford to do so knowing this is 100% the issue. Again, thanks for the replies. I will update after next Saturday just so the info will be recorded here.
