Monthly So Cal Off-Road Run

I’ve ran most of the trails in Bear and have had plenty of experience driving in the snow but not the two combined.

Gold has absolutely gotten more difficult over the years but it’s still probably the easiest of them all. Holcomb in the snow would be a good time but make for a long day.

You start getting sleep again around the 2 year mark. Not much but it gets better. Until they get sick, which seems to happen every time we go to the local playground. Then it's no sleep for a week

this is why we find our own children so adorable from an evolutionary perspective, it makes it bearable when you get up for the 5th time at 3am lol

Yesterday was nuts.

Hell yeah, I’m down! I’ve been dying to hit Gold again, just been waiting for my new clutch to finish breaking in.

How hard was it yesterday?

 

Gold is pretty chill. The only thing we could make it up was the gate keeper because the front was solid ice. Dishpan was pretty tough in sections. But not to bad!

 

I didn’t take to many pictures, but that was fun.

 

Yea we’re suppose to be setting up a trip early April. I’ll tell him to share the details as it gets closer.

 

Tell me when! We will run the good shit or we head down to corral canyon

Soo… anyone else in the Big Bear area that would be down to run Gold tomorrow?

 

I just got to the Big Bear. A lot of snow coming down and the roads are extremely icy. I assume Gold Mountain will be extremely slick also. It’s not supposed to snow tomorrow but it’s going to be cold. Just a heads up. I can’t go out tomorrow but if you run into any trouble let me know. I’ll be in Big Bear until around noon.

 

Been driving around all day. Conditions have progressively gotten worse as the snow has come down. The majority of the snowfall has been in the last few hours.

Roads are slick but I wouldn’t say icey. Gold would be much more challenging than normal but would be a ton of fun. I won’t attempt it solo though.

 

Taking the fire roads down Rattlesnake Canyon and into Yucca. Wish us luck!
