    Hello everyone,

This weekend I installed a new Blue Sea fuse block to connect some peripherals (air pump and cb) that were originally connected directly to the battery. After I finished up, I checked to make sure those items worked, saw that they did and called the project complete. The next day, I hop in the truck and go to roll the windows down and found that the front windows (double cab) are not working as intended. The driver will not do the auto up\down and the passenger will not respond to the button at all. If I attempt to roll the passenger window down from the passenger button, it works but the auto feature doesn't work. I've checked the fuses related to the windows and even went to far as to check every 20a fuse in the cab and under the hood and they all passed. I also disconnected the drivers side window\door lock panel, took it apart and cleaned it with some contact cleaner hoping that might be the case however the results were the same. My next troubleshooting step was to disconnect the Blue Sea fuse block from the battery but still, no joy. I feel like I've had this happen once before but don't remember what I did to fix it. One thing I did notice is that the 20a fuses I removed for the power windows had a purplish tint to the contacts as if they were burnt. Not sure if that's normal but wanted to mention it.

    What might I be missing?

I think I've read, more than once, there's a way to reset them, try a search for resetting power windows maybe.
Or someone smarter than me, may chime in.

Maybe taking the negative terminal off for a minute or two might reset it

Tried that. In fact I left the negative terminal off overnight hoping for something.

Try holding the window switch up while the glass is at the top for five seconds, do the same in the down position. Repeat on the passenger side. This works on Subaru vehicles.

Just tried this for both windows. Issue started after battery shorted went bad. Wonder if a relay is bad? Will keep looking.

Was working fine both windows until the battery went.

    Any other ideas ?

What worked for my 2016 TRD was holding the switch to roll them completely up and then completely down 2x.

    Whala!!

    Thanks
    John
