I have a cab leak from the roof between glass case and windshield, driver side.

Not a ton, we had some light rain.

Has anyone else had this issue ?

Do you have a roof rack?

I do have a whistling sound sometimes at speed where the liner for racks are on the roof.

    Drivers side as well.

My only guess would be the screws weren’t lined with silicone or whatever it is, causing a leak but I’m no zoologist

    Yep
    LOL.

The whistle is kind of a mystery. I think it is the right combination of cross wind and speed hitting the font corner of that rubber liner.

For the leak, I am kind of hoping that the sunroof did not engage all the way the day before. Its never happened before and I have not changed anything.

Are there drain tubes up there ?

Sunroof, awe dang thats gotta be an important factoid. Everyones wondering if you have a rack or if you have a leaking rear brake light and often drive in reverse at 50 on the freeway commuting to work.

I have seen a bunch of posts like this lately. I am now curious if all of them are due to roof rack installs. But to answer the question, no, no roof leaking for me on my 2020 OR, without a roof rack.

    Yep
    Thanks Everyone.

I, do not have a roof rack, (2016) my buddy does (2021) and when they installed it, they kinked and seal and it started to leak. Thats could still be a clue.

On my truck, with no rack, the rubber liners that fill the gaps on the roof where OEM roof rack mounts go, are causing a whistling sound at speed.

I am aware of the recall for the rear brake light seal on the cab for leaking. So far that is not an issue.

It sounds like I might not be the only one having this issue, so I should go to the dealer. Honestly I really do not like my local Toyota dealer, they take forever, charge way too much and have a horrible attitude about everything except trying to sell you a new car. As soon as you drive off the lot, it's like they don't even know you. So much of supporting "local business".

It rained again last night, so I;'ll open it up and take a look. If I find anything, I will post back.

    Thanks again everyone.

    Hey all,

The leak is fixed. I opened up the sun roof after we had some rain last night. Sure enough, there was a pool of water on the front drivers side frame where the drain port and tube is. It's kind of hard to see in the picture, but you should get the idea.

I soaked up the water with a rag, cleared the initial blockage with an opened heavy Zip tie, then used some canned air and then used a hunk of CAT-5 (ethernet cable) I had laying around. The CAT 5 is about perfect diameter and pushed down a good three feet or so to the bottom. I cleared both sides to be safe.

It's a good reminder to do some cleaning and greasing of the sunroof mechanism every so often to prevent more serious damage.
