Does the parking brake engage when you put the vehicle in park?

I think some Hondas do that.

That push button shifter is the worse thing I have ever seen on a vehicle.

hell if i know what the parking break does, sometimes it's on and other times i just think of how luck i am to park in a flat spot. Honda, Acura is the same thing so i'm not surprised some Hondas do that. The old Pilot and Odyssey i drove were great.

I'm glad it's not my vehicle but i have the unfortunate luck of needing to service it. (it's my parent's vehicle and it frustrated me to the point i told them that i'm gonna sell it.) i wont drive that thing because the push button shift is the jankiest thing i've ever experienced and i do some sketch MacGyver stuff.

I think the Ridgeline still has a normal shifter. Not being able to put a vehicle in park, or apply the parking brake with out a mechanical linkage isn't a good design. Not sure how that one got past the saftey industry. The mechanical linkage can brake, but that don't happen often.

I was just thinking that the other day. If prices continue to rise, would there be a point I would get one as a daily.

the mechanical linkage will stretch over time, just gotta tighten it a bit if it stops to hold, long before it breaks.

with that said, yeah i agree with you that i have no how that got approved. Call me old-fasioned, but the only electronic in a vehicle should be the backup camera and then radio.
hears can be done with vacuums like the older GMs used to have.
    :burp:

i dont blame you man. it'll be a sort of weird repeat of 1980s with the oil crisis. I know a guy who can't go to work anymore because he can't afford to drive.

I'm looking at getting a corolla for daily grocery getting.
But I barely drive the truck anyways. TTC to work since it's so close and parking is too expensive $120 a week with gas vs $32a week. Warning up now too so going to just start riding in.

I’m just trying to get by on the smiles per gallon right now. Simply going to have to make each and every trip count.

as the saying goes “it is what it is”.

also my pink skirt I’m currently in the wash, should be ready to go for Ardbeg spring cleanup :)

I have a 12 hour one-way roadtrip in April so the 30" stock tires will be good till then. then i switch back to the Coopers for the Mallcrawl/ Ardbeg.

but please someone recommend me some good 33's that are nothing more than a road tire.
@Norilsk do you still have those 35" geolanders? they looked good as a road tire....

Here's the data on mileage with my firestone destination xt's. they dont have the extra inch all the guys want at 32" but should be a good indication of the treads efficiency. @Norilsk may be a good example of how the Geolander G015 can be a good all rounder. On our James Bay trip our fuel consumption was about matched.

that's more or less what i wanted to hear. For just general on-road driving i'm fine with a 32 or 33".
the Geolander comment to @Norilsk was a bit of a joke/ serious since i saw his tires looked like they'd be great all rounders with how the tread is but more friendly towards road driving.
Or i only remember them being worn down from all the burnouts he does on the rocks....

more serious than joke. them being worn was probably helping but for still a significantly larger tire so a 32 or 33 new couldn't possibly be worse. I think there is even a 32" P rated g015, id imagine that would be almost stock mileage.

And don't forget about any other gas guzzling hobbies you might have. It took a full tank to tow the snowmobile trailer up to Parry Sound last week. Used 40 litres in the sled and another full tank to get back. Ouch. One plus though is I usually get gas an a Reserve and save about $.25 per litre.
