found this looking for a DIY, seems to cover it all

gotta decide if it's worth blowing $25 at Autozone for pigmat to place under the master to catch any DOT4 dripping during replacement and protect the carpet

I just replaced mine 2 weeks ago. Here is some info that I'd recommend just from having done it.
    • Buy the 3rd gen master cylinder. Its exact fit and aluminum body instead of 2nd gen plastic.
    • Use turkey baster to suck all fluid out of reservoir and them crack open the slave bleeder and let it all drain out by gravity or pressure bleeder if you have one. This will mitigate the mess when you crack open master cylinder line.
    • Good time now to replace slave as well with updated part number.
    • Adjust clutch pedal free play.--> Loosen lock nut on master cyl pushrod. Push rod slots into clutch pedal arm so has to be pulled up and out an inch to adjust. Thread adjuster in until there is about 1/2" free play from clutch pedal fully up to contact with master cyl pushrod.
    • Use https://www.amazon.com/Pentosin-1224116-Brake-Fluid-Liter/dp/B00610SK2S fluid for the lightest clutch pedal. Low viscosity fluid. Been using it for years and works great.
    • EDIT: Clutch delay valve delete if not already done
